Resolved question:
It was two weeks ago, I woke up with itchy, sensitive skin on my right, lower hip, just below where my boxer waistband hits. Later that day, I noticed small bumps and assumed that a bug had attacked me in bed, overnight.
The following day, the bumps had grown and multiplied. Skin itchy and irritated. This continued for another five days, more or less, and I started to think I might have experienced an allergic reaction. Maybe my underwear had rested on a table with some chemical before being folded and put away some day.
As it has progressed, I now have a dull, achy sensation down in to my hip bones around the area, and the surface of the skin and surrounding area is incredibly sore and sensitive. After two weeks, it just looks nasty, and the ache is always there. I can live with it, but it constantly has my attention.
I'm 33, male, and on low doses of Synthroid and Cytomel for Hasimoto's hpothyroidism. I am also active and fit.
Am I wrong to think this might be shingles?

Hello,
Thanks for posting your query at DoctorSpring.com
I can understand your concern. I reviewed the pictures.
This is shingles. Its also known as herpes zoster. I would recommend taking oral anti viral called valacyclovir. It will require a prescription from your doctor.
Application of Mupirocin cream on the lesions will aid in healing.
Tab. Crocin will aid in relieving any pain.
Please let me know if you have any queries.
Take care
