Sharp pain in groin on laying, sitting. APPENDIX problem?

Resolved question:
I woke up today with a sharp pain in my groin. I was concerned it was my appendix starting to burst. I can walk around but when I sit, lay down flat, or bend over the pain is felt. It is a sharp pain not too bad but it feels like a soccer ball hitting your testicles (not as painful). I also held in my urine for way too long. Reason is I slept for 14 hours and didn't wake up once to urinate. Probably went 18 hours without urinating. When I awoke I felt the urge to urinate but urge wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Kind of more of a bloated feeling like when you hold it in for so long it just doesn't come out anymore. Took awhile to urinate but finally did. No blood and wasn't painful at all. It's been about 8 hours now and still feel the pain. I've kept from drinking & eating anything for the most part just in case it was my appendix. Did have a few bites and a sip of water though and it went down with no problems. It especially hurts when I go into a fetal position. I could of slept on it funny because last night I did sleep flat on top of my testicles. So to wrap it up, it's not painful to eat or drink, not painful to urinate and no blood in my urine, I can walk fine. Only when I sit or lay down flat do I feel the discomfort. Pain is above scrotum in between penis and thighs. Thanks and happy Thanksgiving!

Hello,
Thank you for your query at DoctorSpring.com
I am certainly concerned about the pain you are having.

There is a possibility that you are having mild appendicitis. You should certainly visit emergency to rule it out.
The other possibility is of your having some muscle injury. But please get yourself evaluated first to rule out appendicitis.

A visit to emergency room is certainly mandated.
Feel free to discuss further,

Rajiv Goel
