Resolved question:
Hi I was diagnosed with Tonsillitis yesterday, and yes I do have some while spots on my tonsils. Three days ago I started with 38-39.5Degree fevers going up and down lasting two days. And since yesterday I've had no higher fevers and my temp went back to a normal 97.5-98degrees. If I had to rate my pain scale from 1-10 overall would be 3/10. I do not have difficulty swallowing or anything and if there is pain it's mild and it's more of a feeling of thirst. I also did have chills and I was sick prior with a head cold but no fever, just runny nose and coughing(no sore throat) but had a habit of forcefully coughing so I assumed at first that the pain was from the irritation. So anyway I do have one problem and its that I do have a weak stomach so I have a hard time taking oral medications let alone antibiotics that I was prescribed for my tonsillitis. I have read online and heard that whether bacterial or viral the tonsillitis does run its course within a week or so. I just have not been tested to know which one. I was hoping there may be a way (if my tonsillitis is bacterial) that there'd be a natural treatment or any other way that I could avoid antibiotics at all costs. And if there is, how long will it take for the white spots to clear up. Do they break open? Or just go away?

Hello,
Thank you for posting your query at DoctorSpring.com
You were diagnosed to have tonsillitis. But you have no fever and mild throat pain.
You have white spot on tonsil.
These white spots seen food particle stuck in tonsillar crepts, it will clear spontaneously, you need not to do any thing about it. Some this spots occur if pus collects, follicular tonsillitis, but this is usually quite painful.
If your symptoms are mild you can avoid antibiotics now with symptomatic treatment.
You can start tab. Chlorpheneramine 2 mg two times.
Tab. Paracetamol 650 mg two times.
You can do warm saline or betadine garggle.
If your symptoms worsening then you will require to add antibiotic.
Feel free to discuss further,
Hope this helps
Best regards
Yes, I did have a fever and the White spots on my tonsils are definitely not food particles. It's just my fever has gone down and there is no pain in my throat, just mild pain scale of 3. All I have are runny/stuffy nose and plugged ears. The White spots are still there but will they eventually disappear?
