Resolved question:
I'm a 31 year old male. Over a month ago I had sexual intercourse (with a condom) the next day or so I started having a pressure feeling in my left testicle. Then a day or so later I started having pain on the underside of the head of my penis (I'm uncircumcised). The pressure subsided a bit and so did the pain. I ended up traveling for work and Mayne a week later I went to the doctor. They took a urine sample to test for ghonnarra and chlamydia and gave me antibiotics for those diseases. After 2 weeks of taking the meds the symptoms were pretty much gone but then came back. I went back to the doctors and saw a different doctor. He took a urine sample for other bacterial infections and prescribed me different antibiotics. After ten days of taking them the symptoms were gone.
Last Friday I had sexual intercourse again (with a condom) and the same thing happened. It started with pressure in my left testicle and then pain on the underside of the head of my penis. The pressure has gone down a bit but it and the pain under the head of my penis is still there. What could this be from. Should I go back to the doctors (or urologist)? How urgent is it to see a doctor as I'm traveling for work?

Hello,
Thanks for your consult at DoctorSpring.com.
1. This is not implantation bleeding. I say this for the following reasons - a ) There was no penetration b ) You got your period on time c ) It is too late for this to be implantation bleeding .
2. Yes in all probability this is your period that is earlier and scantier than usual. Reasons could include - stress, anxiety, weight changes, unaccustomed exercise, erratic eating, late nights, smoking, drinking, medications etc.
3. It COULD be rectal / anal bleeding and you should be able to differentiate that if the bleeding recurs.
You can ignore this if it is indeed vaginal bleeding as once in a while a period might deviate from the expected course.
IF the bleeding is persistent or the same irregular pattern recurs in the next cycle too, you should have a gynecological assessment and hormonal level assay.
IT would include an internal exam, pelvic ultrasound scan and hormonal measurements - FSH, LH, TSH, Prolactin.
All the best
I hope this helps, would be glad to answer any follow-up. Please feel free to discuss further.
Dear Dr,
Thank you for your answers. They were helpful. I just wanted to CLARIFY to feel more confident and comfortable with the issue as well as ask a few questions for my GENERAL knowledge since I am a VIRGIN and for future reference:
1. The fact that I was intimate with my boyfriend which could mean cum on his penis or hands rubbing the outer area of my vagina but without penetration or sex and i got my period only a few hours after intimacy, is that EVIDENT enough to prove that there is NO pregnancy? Like is that a confirmation of no pregnancy?
2. This isn't a question but just a remark I wanted to add to clarify that the blood I found on my underwear which you saw in the picture is the only blood that appeared. There has been no further bleeding at all today and as I said my period is due in a week.
3. If we assume there was cum around my vagina from his hands or penis that rubbed my vagina from the outside, is it possible for sperm to make its way into my vagina considering im a virgin and have an intact hymen? I just want to know the possibility of that.
4. In the case of sex, which DID NOT happen in my case. Could you have your period a few hours after sex and still prove that there is no pregnancy or is this a different case?
5. Last and most importantly concerning MY CASE the dates and details I gave of you of intimacy, the time my period came after a few hours of intimacy and the blood I found on my underwear, how confident should I be that this is in NO WAY related to PREGNANCY. Just to get that thought out of my head completely so that I can be at PEACE. And what do you think is it most probably?
Hello again.
Feel free to ask as many questions as you wish, I am here to reassure and help you all the time.
Now for your questions -
1. Yes, the 2 facts - you had no penetration, and you had your period, are enough to prove that there cannot be a pregnancy.
2. This could just be erratic spotting, dont worry.
3. Without the hymen breaking, sperm cannot travel inside.
4. Even if you had sex, having a normal period means that you are not pregnant.
5. You can be 100 % confident and relaxed that you are not pregnant !
Take care.
Regards.
Dear Dr,
Today something similar happened which I have attached an image here. It s a brownish discharge. My period should be here in about 3 days. I don't understand what this is its the FIRST time it happens to me and im FREAKING out about pregnancy. What does this discharge indicate? Why is it going and coming ? Im telling myself im not pregnant for all the obvious reasons you gave me and all the facts I told you especially considering I got my period a few hours after sexual activity! Is it my bodys way of responding to sexual activity or what is it? I have a pheobia regarding pregnancy as you can see. I don't care what it is as long as its not pregnancy.
Thank you for your help.
Hello,
This is erratic spotting, and can occur due to the reasons mentioned by me.
Do not freak out, it is not pregnancy.
Just to reassure you, take a pregnancy test.
That will atleast put your mind to rest.
If you do not have your proper period as expected, go ahead and have the workup suggested.
Regards.
