Pain in knee, limping after fall. CONCUSSION, MRI?

Resolved question:
Our dog got loose, and while trying to retrieve it, I fell down a slight incline, hurting my knee. The issue is my head. I don't recall having head hit the grass or the ground. With knee hurt I am limping moderately, but seems to be getting better. I feel unsteady at times, especially stairs. I am male 49, take meds for HBP and Xanax. I did nave a baby stroke about 5 years old patientago. I don't have insurance. Vision is ok, hand to nose test fine. typing and reading is fine. my ability to determine distance is fine. I am wondering if this is a minor concussion, something strange Post trama related. I know an MRI is the best choice but with no insurance the cost may be too great.

Hi,
Thank you for your query at DoctorSpring.com
I have noted your symptoms and would like to reassure you that the symptoms are suggestive of mild head injury causing a mild concussion and there is no need to worry about that.
The symptoms would resolve in a few days on own.
At this stage, you can take symptomatic treatment, such as ibuprofen or diclofenac tablets for headache and betahistine tablets for dizziness.
There is no need to go for CT or MRI scan of brain at present. If you develop severe headache, vomiting, drowsiness, fits, weakness of arm or leg, then, you may go for a brain scan.
I hope it helps.
Best wishes,
Dr. Sudhir Kumar MD (Medicine), DM (Neurology)
