Medication to prevent STI/HIV after protected sex.

The good thing is since you wore a condom, no further intervention is required. Studies say if a condom is used properly, it can prevent STIs almost 100 % of the times. HIV can be spread only through unprotected interocurse, perinatal transmission, through contaminated blood and blood products, or through infected needles.
So right now you do not need any intervention.

Thank you for your answer. It definitely makes me feel better. I do have a few other concerns. I've read online that condoms can fail, or that HIV may get through the latex. Do you think I should be concerned about that? Does filling it with water demonstrate that it didn't fail? Also, how soon can I be tested and know for sure that I'm negative?
Also, I did insert my finger into her anus very briely. Is there any concern with that in terms of contracting a disease? I don't believe I had any cuts on my fingers, and she didn't seem to have any fluids.
Lastly, should I be concerned due to the high incidence rate here? That's mostly what has me freaking out.

I am happy that i have been able to relieve you of your anxiety.
The high incidence rate only shows that most people there have unprotected intercourse, which can again indicate social causes such as backwardness, and lack of education or awareness among the public there.
You did the right thing by wearing condom, so do not worry.
Regarding inserting finger in her anus, again no disease can be trasnmitted by that. Until and unless you have anal sex.
As i said earlier, if condom is used properly, then it prevent STIs 100 %. Only when people do not use it properly, or there is a tear, then there is a cause to worry. And this gives a failure rate to condoms. This is not because of the condoms or lates, rather it is the inability of the user to use it properly.
So please do not worry.
To have a very conclusive evidence, i will advise you to get yourself tested ( if at all you want ), at the end of 3 months with a 4th generation HIV test.

Also, do you think that filling the condom with water, and not having any leaks, demonstrates that there was no leak? Also, if the girl didn't excrete any fluids, and the intercourse only lasted a short while, will that reduce the risk?

I meant to say there are no issues with condoms or latex. Sometimes the person using it doesn't know how to use it or puts it on in a wrong way. Only in this cases, transmission can occur and this is what leads to the the failure rate.
Yes if you filled water and there was no leak anywhere, then it did not have tears.
Also the chances of getting HIV from an infected girl is much lesser since they really don't have any active discharge that has good volume unlike an ejaculate from a man.
So in your case there is nothing to worry about.
But the duration of intercourse has no bearing in passing HIV.

thanks again. Do you think it's worthwhile for me to visit a clinic to get tested now? Maybe I should take retrovirals to be safe?

Hello Eric,
No there is no point getting tested.
Also anti retrovirals should be taken only when the exposure is bad, such as getting pricked by an infected needle, unprotected intercourse with HIV positive patient, e.t.c Also they do have a lot of side effects, so you do not need to take them because there is no need.
I assure you, you do not need to anything further.
