Low blood pressure, HYPOTENSION post workout. Is this normal?

Resolved question:
CARDIOLOGY

I am 42 years old patientold, healthy male. I am on hypertension drug Losar 50 mg. My recent health evaluation shows the following -

Serum Cholesterol = 185 mg/dl
HDL = 48 mg / dl
LDL = 44 mg / dl
Serum Triglyceride = 85 mg / dl
VLDL = 17 mg / dl
Cholesterol / HDL ratio = 3.8
2D Echo : Normal

I do regular workout and jog for 30 mins. Today after jogging I measured my BP and it was 95/65. After half an hour after taking breakfast it was 120/80. Is this post workout hypotension normal? Should I continue taking Losar 50 mg?

Dear Doctor,
Thank you for your query at DoctorSpring.com

Going through case history, I suggest you reduce the Tab Losar to 25 mg once a day.
Immediately after exercise the heart rate will be high and pulse volume may be lower , so sometimes the blood pressure machine may measure it correctly, giving a false low value.
After your reduce your medication by half , I would suggest you to monitor blood pressure periodically and if it still normal , then you can completely stop blood pressure medication and check periodically to see your blood pressure, and if it is normal then you just have to follow lifestyle modifications like exercise, eat healthy food and avoid too much of salt.

Regards
Dr Satish
