Hello,
Thank you for your query at DoctorSpring.com
Is the itchy sensation throughout or at any particular place?
As mentioned by your previous doctor, you seem to be having urticaria.
The medicines that you have taken usually help in treating urticaria. You have already tried medrol( methyl prednisolone), allegra(fexofenadine), zyrtec( cetrizine), benadryl( hydroxyzine) and claritin( loratidine). Now these could have been ineffective if dose was low or combination was not used.
In my patients, I usually start with Tablet levocetrizine 10 mg twice daily and hydoroxyzine 24 mg twice daily. I also advise my patients to apply calamine lotion mixed with beclomethasone or mometasone lotion twice in a day. If these do not give satisfactory result then I add methylprednisolone 16 mg daily for a week then taper it to 8 mg once daily again for a week. Usually the combination of these three medicines work. If patient complaints of sedation with thesr medicines then these medicines could be replaced by claritin or allegra. However I prefer using these medicines when the intensity of itching is reduced. Avoid taking histamine rich food like cheese, fish, sour fermented food, preservative containing food, tomato, spinach, brinjal etc. If you have a pet stay away from it to avoid animal dander. Avoid extreme changes in temperature.
You may follow these suggestions after consulting your doctor.
Hope this helped.
Take care
