Resolved question:
Dear Doctor,
I am in urgent need to consult a doctor on behalf of my father Mr. Surendra Nath Pathak, aged about 72 years, who is suffering a kind of pain in his lower back. I have consult a doctor locally and after doing an x-ray he declared that a nerve located under the lower spine is going wrinkled during various activities. He also said that for this only cure is surgery.
Please note that my father is a diabetic since last 20-22 years.
I am uploading his recent Medical History for your reference and hope to hear you soon.
Regards
Jai Prakash Pathak

Dear Mr Pathak,
Thanks for your query at DoctorSpring.com
I have gone through the reports of your father. Nowhere the doctor has mentioned about surgery. For any doctor to suggest surgery, MRI of the LS spine is mandatory without which we cannot be sure of the spinal problem of your father. So kindly get an MRI of LS Spine for your father and revert back.

Dear Doctor,
Thank you very much for your prompt and firm response.
Though the doctor has nowhere mentioned in written but he indicated in our conversation. Right then we have shifted to TATA MAIN HOSPITAL where are the facilities provided free of cost as being an Ex Employee. Dr. D.M.Prasad of Neurosciences has been takeup the case and he also indicated for surgery after preliminary checkup, but he was not so sure so he again advised to x-ray. X-Ray has been done but unfortunately it not opened on his system so he did not gone on any decision. But as I understand Dr. Prasad never mentioned any MRI.
Let me explain the symptoms once again..
My father feels pain in back side of upper thigh and relatively in back side of lower thigh (both in right leg) during walk. He has to be stop walking after 90-100 steps and he feels like he has no right leg exists. After 5-10 minutes he feels normal to walk again. Strange point for me is he feels very well in sitting position and during sleep. Again after waking up he feels the pain.
I completely agree with your advise of MRI Scan but I also hope to find some medication based on above said symptoms to keep him moving.
Thanks again and Regards
Jai Prakash Pathak

Dear Doctor,
Thanks for your advise. As per my knowledge there is no good neurosurgeon is available right now in Jamshedpur. Dr. Prasad is a neurophysician.
So I would like to go with your advise to do a MRI and shall write you the details of reports once it comes to me as well as the scan photos after Tuesday, the 7th April.
Thanks again .
