Resolved question:
I have always had period pain every 2nd or 3rd period. However, recently (in the last couple of months) the pain is far more intense and lasts much longer - last month three days and I was sent home from work. This month my period was 7 days late (I have never been later than a day or two). We are trying to conceive at the moment, I am 32 and becoming concerned that there is an underlying issue. It has only been 8 months since we started to try for a baby. I am not registered with a doctor s we are moving house, do I need to see one over this? I can't stand this level of pain every month.
Many thanks

Hello
Thanks for writing to us with your health concern.
The issue that is possible here is endometriosis.
That would cause inordinate amount of menstrual pain, pain during intercourse, irregular periods etc.
Yes, you would need to see a Gynecologist.
An internal exam needs to be done, also a Pap smear and a pelvic ultrasound scan.
Also since it has been 8 months and you are trying to conceive, that workup will help in that aspect also.
All the best.
Please feel free to discuss further.
