Resolved question:
Hello Doctor,
I am 28 years old female and have no children, having married last year. Just after I had my menstruation this month, I am noticing pain while urinating, which at times becomes unbearable together with pain in the lower abdomen. I thought about going to a doctor, but before that I just want to ask whether this could be due to STD.

Thank you for being so open in your question. Generally these symptoms are associated with STD, but it may also be due to urinary infection. I would advise you to consult a doctor for having a check up for both you and your husband. Be open in asking your husband whether he is having any problems. If it is an infection in the urinary tract, it may be treated with antibiotic after getting the report of urine culture. Otherwise, if this be a case of STD, you should immediately start high dosage of antibiotics after consulting a STD Doctor. A good STD doctor will first go through routine tests of samples of urine, blood and a throat swab. A swab of any sore or discharge will confirm whether it is STD. You can depend upon the modern treatment for STD.
