Hello, Polycystic ovary disease is a very common cause of infertility, but that doesn't meant that a person on treatment For PCOD cannot get pregnant, There are very high chances that you can pregnant by following the treatment of regular OC pills and stoppage of Oral contraceptive 3 months before you try to get pregnant. If do not get pregnant after 12 months of sexual intercourse, only then will you be termed infertile .Infertile Couple with PCOD have a lot of options to conceive. First , it will have to be determine if it is only because of PCOD or any other condition co-exists to make you infertile .A battery of tests like – 1) Estrogen stimulation test 2) Progesterone stimulation test 3) Mid Luteal rise in LH If these test show that you have ovulation defect due to PCOD, Ovulation induction is done by Clomiphene citrate. Couples with infertility due to PCOD have high conception rate by the use of this drug. Thank you.
