Hello, Yes, you are eligible for lap band. But, this has to be made sure with few investigations and also few precautionary measures. Firstly biopsy of esophagus has to be taken, to know if there are any changes, by this I mean dysplasia or metaplsia of squamous cells. Next, precautionary measures like taking enough antacids before and after the lap. As stress can lead to increased production of acid, chances of acute gastritis and regurgitation of acid leading to stimulus for metaplasia. Apart from that your hemoglobin and weight should be measured before lap to be on safer side. Thank you.
