It has startd at the age of 17 and age23 iin that times i feard about getting the disease cancer and taken treatmnt from a psychiartist two times and got complete remedy..both time i have taken venlafaxine extended release 75 mg. this time it has last 3 yr and i only got a 80% remedy.. so my doubts are existing in my mind..thts are 1 hypocondriasis is a type of doubts, this doubt may lead to delusions and through tht there have a chance for getting schizophrenia or delusion disorder. And 2 is i heard hypocondriasis like disorder is due to the imbalance of serotonine level( i am a littile cybocondriac too). So this serotonin imbalance lead to the imbalance of dopomine and thtswhy i have to be a schizophrenic or delusion disorder person.. about my family history there have no heriditory and my father and an uncle have mild anxiety neurosis. And i have no genetic problema too.. my psychiartist told u have the typical hypocondriasis anxiety disorder.. nw i have taken 75 mg venlafaxine extended release capsule frm the last two year.. expecting a valuable advice from u...

Hello
Thank for posting your query at DoctorSpring.com
I have gone through your question in detail and I can understand what you are going through.
I agree that you have a hypochondriasis disorder and hypochondriasis is a neurotic disorder. Its true that you have delusion like idea of having an illness, but the delusions in schizophrenia are very bizzare. For schizophrenia there is a complete diagnostic criteria. Now that you are ill since these many years, if at all there was chance for you to develop schizophrenia, it would have developed by now.
Infact even depression and ADHD causes changes in the levels of dopamine in the blood. Now that doesnt mean that all those who have depression or ADHD have chances to develop schizophrenia.
Your anxiety and doubts are understandable as you have hypochondriasis, but please try to understand that schizophrenia is an all together different diagnosis and you certainly dont have one. You seem to have good improvement with venlafaxine and you can even add fluvoxamine along with venlafaxine to get even better results.
Hope this helps,

Thank u sir. I got it.really good.one more question before concluding.. could u explain the onset age of schizophrenia.. in some website like mayo clinic told that schizophrenia onset is rare after the age of 30 and very rare after age of 40. And after 30 it is possible to woman... is it correct sir? If it is , my age criteria is over? Sir its for getting a confidance.. thanku sir again
Hello,
Thanks for the follow-up question.
Yes it is right. Males develop schizophrenia early where as women develop it late mostly after 30 years. You are out of your risky and common age of presentation of schizophrenia. You can be confident about that.
