Resolved question:
My wife had last LMP on 27th May and we did a pregnancy test on 1st July and found she was pregnant.
It is our second baby.
On 20th July she started spotting and we went to doctor on 21st July. She asked to get a TVS(Trans Vaginal Scan)
The report of the ultrasound was 12mm x 8mm gestational sac with 5mm york sac.
No Cardiac Activity seen which means no heart beat.
gestational age was 5.1 Weeks but her gestational age should be 8 weeks according to LMP.
Cervix was closed.
Doctor injected her Progesterone injection.
A day later i.e 22nd July she is now heavily bleeding with clots(red)
Doctors says chances are 50-50.
So what should we do? Abort or wait for 10 days?
Please help!!!

Hello
Thanks for writing to DoctorSpring.com with your health concern.
As such, truly speaking chances are 50 - 50.
IN half of the cases, the progesterone injections can successfully salvage the pregnancy, and in half of the cases, it progresses to a full blown abortion.
If the bleeding is severe, with clots, then go to your doctor immediately and have a repeat scan, it is possible that she has already miscarried.
In absence of severe bleeding, clotting and cramping, you can wait for 10 more days.
All the best.
Please feel free to discuss further.
