Hello,
Thank you for choosing DoctorSpring.
Lumps can occur due in the groin area due to number of reasons. It could be cysts, lipomas, lymph nodes, infections, abscess etc. I would like to know some additional details from you so that I can provide a solid and learned opinion.
You can reply as a followup
1. Can I know where exactly the lump is located ?
2. Is there any pain ?
3. What is the size of the lump ? in cms or as big as a grape / lemon etc
4. Is the surface of it smooth ?
5. Is it freely movable or fixed on to tissue or bone ?
6. Since how long it is there ?
Thank you
It is in your pubic area, away from lymph nodes. Tender to touch. Size is about the size of a grape with a smooth surface. It has been there for three days and is fixed, but not on the bone.
Hello,
Thank you for the reply. A 3 day duration painful swelling is most likely an infected cyst or a carbuncle. Cyst is more likely since your Doctor ordered an Ultrasound scan. An excision or drainage can be considered based on the content of the cyst. Another diagnostic option is a needle biopsy. It can give an idea on what the tissue is.
The swelling from your description appears not to be a dangerous one. And it could be easily treated.
Hope this helps
