Resolved question:
Hello,
How are you? I am currentl a 32 year old male, diagnosed with schizophrenia 2 years old patientago.
My symptoms have gone down dramatically with antipyschotic medication, rtms treatment
and I am currently taking CBD Oil. The antipyschotic I am on is .5mg respiridone and I am
doing very well on it, without any problems other than constant sleepiness. I however have
gained some weight while on respiridone. Although it is a low amount, it helps me tremendously
compared to my previous 2mg dosage before my rtms therapy.
Ok, so on to my actual question: I want to try the HCG Diet, which is consists of 500 calories a day
and a daily injection of the HCG Hormone, Can HCG potentially exuberate any positive symptoms of
schizophrenia? Can it interfere with my recovery process, beneficially or negatively? Let me know..

Hello
Thanks for using DoctorSpring.com for posting your query.
I have gone through your question in detail and I can understand what you are going through.
Its good that all your symptoms have gone down and you are well maintained on 0.5mg risperidon. Its a very very small dose and a negligible one. Coming to your questions proper, HCG can be safely used in patients of schizophrenia. It will not lead to any harm and will not exacerbate the psychotic symptoms. Regarding the beneficial effect, its a bit controversial as some studies have shown some benefit of use of HCG in schizophrenia but the results are not very robust. Still you may give it a try..
Hope this helps,
In case if you have any further query, do let me know.
Kind regards
