Resolved question:
Hi there,
So a few months ago I had a bacterial infection which was located under the head of the Penis, under the foreskin was a very painful rash with a yellow discharge. Also the frenulum became quite swollen and very difficult to pull the foreskin back. After multiple tests and visits to my GP, I was treated and the issue has since been resolved.
So I'm here months later and I am not facing any similar symptoms but I have an issue when I have sex that the bottom part of the frenulum seems to tear and becomes quite painful, it seems the frenulum is still in tact but the skin under is still sensitive to when I had the issue I explained above. It does heal over a 7-10 day period but is not an ideal way to live if this keeps happening, so my question is how can I go about resolving this? Have you heard of a similar thing happen before? I can provide photos if needed as I had intercourse in the last 24 hours.
Thank you for your time.

Hello,
Thank you for your consult at DoctorSpring.com.
I have seen quite a large number of patients having your presentation. Your frenulum has become fibrotic secondary to infection and hence tears off or becomes sore with each intercourse.
You should refrain from intercourse for 3 weeks and locally apply any antibiotic cream. However, if the problem still persists after 3 weeks then you have to undergo a surgical procedure by the name of frenuloplasty.
Hope this helps, please let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care.
Sincerely

Hello again,
Thank you for getting back to me, it helps a lot. I had another question though, is there anything in particular I should look for in the cream?
Also if it hasn't healed who should I see about further treatment?
Thank you
Dear Sir,
Any antibiotic cream such as neosporin should do well. If it does not heal then you need to see urologist.
Sincerely
Hello,
Just one more question I am having a hard time finding neosporin in Australia due to being discontinued here. Is there anything else that you know I can look for?
Thanks again
Dear sir,
You can try looking for mupirocin ointment.
