Resolved question:
Have had cold symptoms for almost 4 weeks. Seemed to be getting better the second week then suddenly much worse again. Currently have low grade fever, chills, excessive sweating, severe fatigue, developing sore throat, constant sinus drainage, and diarrhea. Have already gone to urgent care within the second week and finished the prescribed antibiotics. Was seen in the second week as I was experiencing vomiting and diarrhea while at work that day. Have had multiple days within this time period where I could not keep food in my system whether through sudden diarrhea or vomiting. Have been told to return to urgent care but, every visit I seem to get no answers and very little help so I am hoping you can help me better. thank you for your time.

Hello,
Thank you for your query at DoctorSpring.com
I understand your concern.
It seems like in addition to the throat infection, you also picked up a GIT infection leading to diarrhea and vomiting. Can you please mention which antibiotic you used? Some antibiotics can also lead to similar manifestations.
For the next few days, I will advise you the following medicines:
1) Tab. Loperamide SOS - to control the frequency of diarrhoea.
2) Tab. Ondansetron 4 mg thrice daily 30 minutes before each meal.
3) Plenty of fluids.
4) Cap. Omeprazole 20 mg twice daily.
Please continue this treatment for 3 days, and let me know if there is improvement.
Hope this was helpful,
Dr. J
