Resolved question:
I woke up with an intense but dull pain in the middle/right side of my chest - just to the right of center, and it has been on and off all day. I was in the hospital for 4 days three weeks ago for Rhabdomyolysis. I have an amplatzer device in my heart from a 2004 PFO closure after a TIA. A doctor friend brought up the idea of a pulmonary embolism and now I'm worried. I don't know if I should go to the ER or not given my history.

Hello,
Thanks for your query at DoctorSpring.com
I understand your concern
Well it seems like the pain needs to be investigated. An Ecg 2d echo trop I chest xray followed by a CT scan would be the ideal set of investigations for you. The pain could be acute coronary syndrome or pulmonary embolism. I would recommend you go to the er for further investigations and management.
What was the cause of rhabdomyolysis?
Please feel free to discuss further.
