Hello,
Welcome to DoctorSpring forum
Human Eyes are not designed to look and focus at a nearby artificially illuminated object for long time. So theoretically , yes looking at computer can be hurting to your eyes. But for all practical purposes majority (>90%) will have a little or no harmful effects from looking at a computer.
I would like to know whether you have any of the following symptoms - burning of the eyes, seeing haloes, Headaches, Itchy eyes, watering from the eyes, change in colour perception, blurring, or trouble in focusing .
If there are any of the above symptoms it could be due to two things - 1. A loosely termed collected of symptoms called CVS - Computer vision syndrome or 2. a manifestation of an unrelated eye problem - like Glaucoma or refractive error. Let me know if you have any of the above or related symptoms.
