Cause for delayed periods without active sex. MONISTAT1.

Resolved question:
My period is delayed for ten days. I am not sexually active after my latest period. Last month three days before my period, I had a vaginal infection but I waited until my period is done and treated the symptoms with Monistat 1. I am usually got really nervous about my menstrual cycle. Am I pregnant or having any disease that delay my period? Thanks!

Hello,
Thanks for posting your query at DoctorSpring.com
You have not been sexually active since your last period, so there is no question of a pregnancy .
Dont worry.
I need some more details from you please.
What is your age ?
Do you always have regular cycles ?
Anxiety and stress / worry will only make your period even more irregular .
Please write back with details so that I can guide you about what to do further.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Take care.

Hi.
Many factors can affect the menstrual cycle.
Travelling, change of climate, stress, anxiety, weight changes, changes in exercise schedule, smoking, drinking, late nights, erratic eating habits - all of these can impact it.
So dont worry.
Just maintain a menstrual diary, detailing the dates.
IF you do not have a period within a week, please schedule an appointment with an OB - GYN.
Go for an internal exam, Pap smear, Pelvic ultrasound scan and hormonal levels ( FSH, LH, TSH ).
IF these are normal, dont worry, you can definitely attribute it to stress, travelling and change of place.
You might need progesterone tablets to kickstart your cycle if that is the case.
Take care.
