I am a slim 40n yr old female, no health issues, non smoker, no kids, no medication but on vitamin D.
4.5 wks ago I was diagnosed with a superficial blood clot behind my R knee, small. I have been on asprin 100mg for a month, initially I had pain in my R leg which made me see my GP. I have had an ultrasound, and blood tests were ok, am having clotting tests in Feb.
I wear TED stockings at work. I had much less pain after starting asprin until this week... where the pain has been back, achy,down to feet at times, comes and goes, no leg swelling, no dizziness or chest pain, or redness, am able to live/do things as usual. but pain there now? it comes and goes? why???
I walk but aside from that no other exercise, reasonably active person.
I have been on leave this week and havent been wearing my stockings, still on asprin.
how long til the pain goes? and why has it come back this week? should I take more asprin? Ill wear my teds next week at work again, I only wear them at work. Its hot where I live. should I wear them at night? its too hot to wear them daytime and my gp said I didn't need to..
2 wks ago I saw my gp and she said not to worry. she didnt think I needed clexane or heparin and neither did the drs at the hospital where I had the u/sound.

Hello,
A superficial blood clot should not cause considerable pain under normal circumstances. Since your Doctors did not recommend Heparin, it seems the clot is of a small size. This also makes me wonder whether the pain is due to something else (form a joint or pinched nerve).
I would like to know some additional information from you : You can reply as a followup -
1. What were the symptoms to begin with (during the initial diagnosis ) ?
2. Are the symptoms similar now ?
3. Was a Doppler scan done, if so do you know where the findings ?
4. Do you have pain in any other joints ?
