I am wondering if a stomach flu can last 8 days? I am just starting to feel better, but still a little weak staying home from work.

Hello, 1.In either case, if you were getting better over the last couple of days, you need not be worried. 2. You should be taking your regular diet (avoid milk products if it is causing some discomfort). 3. A probiotic drink/capsules can be taken for week. (optional). Some mild fatigue, malaise and bowel discomfort might be there. You need give much concern to these symptoms. It will resolve in few days. Hope this helps.

Stomach flu (Acute Viral Gastroenteritis )usually last for 1-4 days. But the bowel habits can take upto 10 days to return to normally.
In certain other cases especially when the stomach flu is caused by a bacteria, the symptom duration can last for a week 7.
