Hello,
Thank you for your query at DoctorSpring.com
I understand your concern
Fibroadenoma are benign swellings (often smooth and movable under breast) which are common in young women and confused with cancerous lumps. I advice you not to worry until you get checked by your GP. Physical examination and ultrasound will confirm the diagnosis.
Hope this was helpful
Feel free to discuss further

Many thanks for your response.
It does seem moveable too.
it feels more oval than round - can those type of cysts you mentioned be different shapes.
Also what causes theses cysts and do they disappear.
Do you think my gp will be able to tell on examination if it is more likely a benign cyst rather than C.
many thanks
Hello,
The very fact that it is movable confirms that it is a benign swelling.
It is mostly hormone related, and in some cases they do not increase in size at all, and do not cause any discomfort leading to the the patient ignoring it completely.
Only when it starts producing symptoms, or increases in size gradually, the decision is taken of removing it.
It can be of different shapes because it is completely hormone related.
Kindly get it examined by your physician and let me know what he thinks. I will help you from there.
Regards.
